Thousands of people have converged this weekend at Waskesiu.

The annual Lakeside Music Festival was established in 2015 and committee member Kris Kershaw told paNOW it is the biggest event in Waskesiu.

“It’s also the largest free family event of the summer like everybody wants to come to Waskesiu and this year the admission to the Prince Albert National Park is free as well so the festival is always been a free event but now you get into the park for free as well so everybody’s excited.”

The party was rocking Saturday night. (Waskesiu Lakeside Music Festival).

Over the course of three days, dozens of bands and artists have taken to the stage including headliner Bombargo, Jay Semko, and Cupid’s Heart. During the breaks, Saskatoon’s Dj Anchor kept the party going. Kershaw who has been a part of the festival’s organization for a few years but has been attending since day one, said the event gets bigger every year.

“We’re trying to expand it even further,” he said.

Sunday’s events include a car show by the Classic Cruisers Car Club, and there is a special indigenous talent showcase running from noon until 4p.m.

Among the bands on stage this weekend is Prince Albert’s own East Side of Second.

“It’s super exciting and a honour to be playing with tons of talented musicians, especially local stars Bombargo,” Aiden Edwards told paNOW. “Getting to finish our summer tour with one of our last shows at such a great festival is great and lots of the local fans and family can come out and enjoy..”

There’s also been a ton of excitement for the 50/50 raffle jackpot which as of Sunday at 11a.m. sat at $12,302.
