Pine Grove to get new programming building

With the approval of a discretionary development permit by Prince Albert city council on Monday, Pine Grove Correctional Centre will expand their ability to provide programming to inmates.
The new administrative building will allow for addictions and education programming.
“The new building does not indicate an increase in the number of inmates at the facility; it simply provides additional space for supportive programming,” reads the briefing note to council.
Council approval was required because Pine Grove is zoned Park and the city’s zoning bylaw specifies direct council approval when it comes to development there.
