7/11 fire intentionally set on shelf inside business

Aug 28, 2025 | 12:04 PM

UPDATE: PA Fire said later the same day that the fire was inside the business and it had been deliberately set on a shelf and grew rapidly.

Prince Albert Police are also investigating.

Emergency services were call to the 7/11 at 11 am and found the fire inside, which they then extinguished.

However, they say signficant damage was done to the business and one staff member was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

Prince Albert Fire and Police are on scene at one of the busiest intersections in Prince Albert this afternoon.

While no flames were visible, there was some smoke in the air around the building, along with large ventilating fans and a ladder to the roof.

Traffic still flowed around the location on 2nd Ave. W and 15th Street, but was slightly hampered by emergency vehicles taking up one lane.

No further information is available at this time but will be provided as it becomes available.

Along with the forensic van, police were seen interviewing witnesses. (Susan McNeil/paNOW)
