Finalists named for 2025 Battlefords Business Excellence Awards

The Battlefords business community is gearing up for one of its biggest nights of the year.

Finalists have been announced for the 31st annual Battlefords Business Excellence (BBEX) Awards, with the gala set for Nov. 6 at the Don Ross Community Centre in North Battleford.

Presented by Gold Eagle Casino, the awards are seen as the highest recognition for local businesses. For co-chair Samantha Weber, it’s about shining a light on the people and organizations shaping the community.

“The BBEX Awards showcase the immense talent and entrepreneurial spirit of the Battlefords business community,” she said in a statement.

“These finalists have demonstrated remarkable achievements, resilience and a commitment to service and community.”

Recognizing customer service, new ventures and community spirit

The Heather Guthrie Customer Service Star Award (sponsored by Swanson Gryba & Company) is awarded to a business, owner or entrepreneur who demonstrates excellence in customer service and hospitality, with leadership that positively impacts their work.

More than awards

Beyond the competitive categories, Ultra Print Services Ltd. has already been chosen for the Heritage Award, sponsored by Scotiabank. The Battlefords Business Hall of Fame inductee will be announced at the gala.

The evening will also include the presentation of the Stan Wychopen Memorial BBEX Scholarship, a $2,000 award to a North West College student in a business program.

Finally, the BBEX Business of the Year, sponsored by the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board, will be revealed from among the top finalists across all categories.
