It was a busy few days for the Nipawin Fire Department (NFD).

They were called to a collision between a semi and a pickup truck Friday morning near the Rolling Pines Golf Course.

They also responded to another two-vehicle collision in town during the long weekend.

Meanwhile, the NFD was alerted Tuesday morning about a plane crash in the northern provincial forest.

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) and other agencies were able to respond to the crash before the NFD was needed.

A message to the SPSA for details on the plane crash has not been returned by the time of publication.

The NFD’s social media page indicated that in both the plane crash and the semi versus pickup truck collision, everyone was able to walk away.

The Nipawin Fire Department has had 177 calls so far in 2025, and that’s just two behind their total for all of last year.
