RCMP confirm Romana Didulo, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Canada,” has been arrested in Richmound, Sask.

Didulo is a conspiracy theorist whose followers believe she holds authority over everything from law enforcement to income taxes. Her group has sparked violent protests, like when they tried to arrest police officers in Peterborough, Ont. for enforcing COVID restrictions. Didulo is also known to spread conspiracies popular with QAnon – a far-right political movement based on a conspiracy that the world is controlled by pedophiles who worship Satan and that President Donald Trump is the only person who can defeat it.

Didulo and her followers have been staying at a former school site in the small village of Richmound near the Alberta border for about two years. She livestreamed her arrest by RCMP Wednesday on the platform Telegram Messenger.

“There’s the corporation RCMP—that calls themselves police—screaming outside saying ‘you’re under arrest, put your hands up, and come towards me and nothing will happen,’ ” said Didulo in the livestream.

Didulo said the officers told her there was a warrant for her arrest. Officers instructed everyone in the building to come out.

As dogs begin to bark, a makeshift wall falls over, and officers holding guns come in.

An officer instructs Didulo to put the phone down and tells her she is under arrest.

“I’m not resisting,” Didulo said, as dogs continued to bark around her. “I’ll give you my hand.”

The live stream ends with the Didulo walking with an officer, with the camera pointed at the ground.

Saskatchewan RCMP held a press conference and explained a search warrant was executed after police received a report that someone inside the old school was in possession of a gun.

Insp. Ashley St. Germaine said 17 people were arrested, including Didulo. Of those taken into custody, 10 were inside the school, while six were arrested from RVs that were on the property. One other person was arrested outside of the compound. St. Germain said they located and seized four replica handguns – one inside the school and three others in vehicles on the property. The search of the building was continuing on Wednesday, Sept. 3., hours after the police first entered at around 4:30 am.

While all 17 people remain in custody, RCMP said no one has been charged at this time.
