A 20-year old woman is facing a long list of charges after a disturbing chain of events in Prince Albert Thursday morning that included a robbery, a stabbing, and a flight from police.

At approximately 12:44 a.m., police received a report of an armed robbery of a vehicle.

The victim reported that she had given a ride to a female acquaintance to the area of 15th Ave. E. and Muzzy Drive where an unknown male entered her vehicle – a 2018 white Ford Escape.

The victim was then directed to drive to a residence in the 500 block of 22 Street East. She did so and was then robbed by the male and female whom she had driven.

The male suspect then pointed what was described as a long-barreled firearm at the victim, while the female suspect threatened her with a knife.

The suspects stole her keys and phone, stabbed her, then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

The victim received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 1:05 a.m., police located the stolen Ford Escape near Central Ave. and 12th St. W. Patrol Officers activated their emergency equipment and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver of the stolen vehicle did not comply and fled, eventually leaving the city northbound across the Diefenbaker Bridge. A pursuit was authorized and the Prince Albert RCMP were notified and assisted.

The stolen vehicle was pursued north of the city and did not stop for police. It later returned to Prince Albert again crossing the bridge. Several intervention strategies were used resulting in the stolen Ford Escape being stopped at 15th Street West and 2nd Ave. W.

The lone occupant of the stolen vehicle, the female suspect, was taken into custody and a knife was recovered from the vehicle; however, no firearm was located.

This investigation remains ongoing, and police are working to identify and locate the male suspect.

The woman, who has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, failure to stop for police, dangerous driving, and breach of release order, will make her first court appearance at Prince Albert Provincial Court on Friday.
