Man charged following ATV death in Pelican Lake First Nation

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of another man on Pelican Lake First Nation several days ago.
Richard Bear made his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court this morning on charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and one count of failing to stop after an accident, resulting in death.
Bear is alleged to be the driver of a pickup that collided with an ATV on Sept. 6, just before 9 pm., with the ATV operator, a 26-year-old also from Pelican Lake who was declared deceased at the scene.
RCMP said the pick up driver fled the scene on foot.
