Vanity Cup Committee renews commitment to $100,000 first place payout

The Vanity Cup Committee has issued an update on the event going forward.

“As we gear up for the 32nd edition of the Vanity Cup, we want to thank all of our anglers, sponsors, and supporters who’ve helped make this tournament a pillar of the community for over three decades,” their social media post read.

“The Vanity Cup Committee has reviewed the structure for this year and is proud to confirm that we will continue with the $100,000 guaranteed first place payout and daily money, just as we did last year,” the statement read. “All remaining payouts will be based on a percentage of total team entries, allowing us to adjust fairly and transparently based on participation.”

The committee said the Vanity Cup has contributed over $3 million back into the Nipawin area over the past 30 years, with the funds supporting local initiatives, organizations, and community-driven efforts. They added it is a legacy built by the anglers who return every year, as well as the new teams that join the Vanity Cup tradition.

“This year, the committee has made the decision to run the tournament on a zero-profit basis,” the committee stated. “It takes 145 teams at max payout just to break even — a number we are not currently near. Still, we are committed to delivering the experience and opportunity anglers have come to expect from the Vanity Cup.”

The impact of the tournament on Nipawin and area is immense, and the committee said they hope all the event’s anglers and supporters recognize its importance.

“We believe the guaranteed $100,000 prize remains one of the most exciting opportunities in competitive angling, and we’re hopeful it will help drive entries back to a sustainable level for the future.”

The committee thanked everyone who has supported the Vanity Cup over the years, and said that continued support means everything.

“We look forward to many more years on the water with you.”
