A man who was being sought by Big River RCMP, has been found and is now in police custody facing multiple weapons-related charges.

Drayden McAdam, 19, was the subject of a dangerous person alert issued by police yesterday afternoon after a gun was discharged several times on the Big River First Nation.

Police were notified just before 3 pm that a man driving a dirt bike was going around the community and shooting off a gun.

Officers found him the same day but he ran on foot into the woods so the alert was issued in the interest of public safety.

The RCMP dog service, a drone and the Critical Incident Response team were all called in to help find him, which they did at 6:15 pm.

McAdam will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on September 15 on charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a weapon and resisting/obstructing police.

He also had an outstanding warrant for assault, two counts of assault with a weapon and four other offences following a different incident on September 6.
