Churchill students receive Wayne Buckle Memorial Award
The inaugural Wayne Buckle Memorial Bursary has been awarded to La Ronge Churchill Community High School students Kristjana Bergsveinson and Xyrene Cheng.
The Wayne Buckle Memorial Bursary, which is valued at $7,500, provides funding to support one or two northern students each year from La Ronge as they work towards post-secondary education. The bursary is sponsored by the Campling Family Foundation in recognition of Buckle’s dedication to education, his profession, friendship, family and his love of La Ronge.
Wayne Buckle was a lawyer who enjoyed spending time in the Lac La Ronge region.
