Demolition in near future for former Tisdale Town Office

Sep 17, 2025 | 10:43 AM

The days of the former Tisdale Town Office are numbered.

The Town has awarded the contract for demolition of the building on 100 Street to Adair’s Demolition Ltd.

Town staff and others were forced to move from the building last fall after mould spore concentrations were found above acceptable levels in the Legion Room and the basement. Staff moved to the RECplex in the meantime.

In May, council approved a motion to demolish the town office building.

Chief Administrative Officer Lovely Magnaye told northeastNOW the demolition will be done sometime toward the end of October, but no specific date has been set. Magnaye said it’s not known yet how long the demolition will take.

The contractor was also given salvaging rights for the remains of the building. Magnaye said the town will pay $92,500 plus applicable taxes for the demolition.

While the move to the RECplex was unexpected, Magnaye said it has gone relatively smoothly.

“We are utilizing the resources available to us to the best of our ability,” Magnaye explained. “Aside from a few concerns regarding the stairs, we have not heard that much complaint from our residents.”

According to Magnaye, council has not decided on a next step regarding the establishment of a future town office, nor have they discussed a location for any future building.
