After being reassigned from the team’s roster ahead of opening day, one of last year’s fan favourites for the Prince Albert Raiders has been traded to the Regina Pats.

It was announced on Tuesday that the Raiders had traded the rights to 18-year-old forward Dayce Derkatch to the Regina Pats in exchange for a third round pick in the 2026 WHL Draft.

Derkatch first appeared with the Raiders for two games as a 16-year-old in 2023-24, but during his 17-year-old season he put up 3G-5A-8P in 55 games after starting the year with the Regina Pat Canadians in Saskatchewan AAA.

Since being reassigned, Derkatch had been playing preseason games with the Warman Wolverines, where he posted 1G-3A in two games.
