La Ronge Ice Wolves third-year veteran forward Zane Normand has been named captain of this year’s team.

The Saskatoon native has spent the last two seasons with the Ice Wolves, garnering 35 points (15G – 20A) during that time.

Forward Grayden Perozni will be assistant captain, alongside David Vitt and Owen Turner.

Perozni joined the team last season and had 26 points (10G -15A) in 50 games. Prior to joining the Ice Wolves, Perozni played in his hometown Edmonton for the U18 AAA Jr. Oilers.

Vitt is a 2005-born forward from Kirkland, Missouri who racked up 6 goals and 6 assists during last year’s campaign.

Turner, also from south of the border, started last season in Melville with the Millionaires before being traded to La Ronge.

The Ice Wolves begin the SJHL regular season Friday, Sept. 18 in the Whitney Forum against the Flin Flon Bombers.
