Tisdale mayoral by-election nominations now open

Residents of Tisdale can now submit their nominations for mayor.

The Town has issued a notice of call for nominations from now through to Oct. 8.

Nomination forms can be obtained at the Tisdale Town Office at the former Hanover Room of the RECplex.

Roy Skoglund resigned as mayor Aug. 14 after being elected in the municipal election last fall.

Skoglund issued a statement shortly after his resignation, citing the demands of the role and what he called the ‘lack of fair remuneration’ as reasons for his decision.

Councillor Amanda Reynolds will be acting mayor through September, while Dean Janzen will serve October and November and Mike Hill in December.

An advance poll will be held Nov. 8, with the by-election being held Nov. 12.
