On Sept. 16, Lake Country Co-op gas stations around Saskatchewan kicked off the annual ‘Fuel Good Day’ campaign, donating 10¢ from every litre of fuel sold, and $1 from every Co-operative Coffee and Big Cool Slush, towards charity causes in the communities they serve.

Between the locations in Prince Albert, La Ronge, Air Ronge, Nipawin, Big River, and Wakaw, this year’s Fuel Good Day raised $23,914.22.

“Thanks to the incredible support of their members, customers, and community partners, a total of $23,914.22 was raised in support of seven local non-profit organizations,” said Marketing Specialist Louise Friesen in a release.

Different members of the community such as local hockey teams, charity organizations, and local businesses came out to help fuel and service vehicles during the event.

For Nipawin, the funds will go towards Handiworks to help provide programs and other opportunities to people with intellectual disabilities.

Finally in Wakaw, they’ll be donating the funds to the Wakaw/Hoodoo Fire Department.

Since launching Fuel Good Days in 2017, a total of $123,064.72 has been raised.
