Town of Hudson Bay seeking new Director of Public Works

The Town of Hudson Bay has a significant job opening.

Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Amanda Purves told northeastNOW they are looking to fill the Director of Public Works position after the resignation of the previous director.

She said they are looking for a candidate with strong communication and leadership skills.

“Experience in equipment operation and maintenance, knowledge of road repairs and maintenance, and maintenance of water and sewer infrastructure,” are also important qualities, according to Purves.

“Certifications in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, [and] Wastewater Collection and Treatment [are] an asset.”

The job advertisement reports that the Director of Public Works reports directly to the CAO.

“This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Town’s infrastructure, utility systems, and related equipment,” the ad reads. “The Director is also accountable for managing department staff and preparing and monitoring the annual Public Works Budget.”

The Town would ideally like to select the right candidate for the job as soon as possible.
