A 27-year-old man is in the custody of Prince Albert Police after a vehicle failed to stop and was later found to have cash, guns and other illicit items.

Officers were on patrol at 2:45 a.m. on September 27 and tried to pull over a vehicle in the area of Second Ave. W and 15th St. W.

Instead of stopping, the driver continued and began evading officers while driving south on Second Ave.

The pursuit was discontinued in the interest of public safety but later, officers spotted the empty vehicle parked outside of a home in the 500 Block of 27th Street East.

They then searched the residence and found the man who was driving and arrested him.

They also found two guns and other items assorted with drug trafficking, some bear spray and some cannabis.

While searching the suspect, they found $650 in Canadian currency.

The man now faces charges of dangerous driving, evading police and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

He appeared in provincial court today.
