Oct 1, 2025 | 4:59 PM

A woman charged after a fatal rollover north of Prince Albert has, by way of her lawyer, entered a guilty plea to impaired driving causing death.

Destiny Michel is now scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 1.

As per discussions heard Wednesday afternoon at Prince Albert Provincial Court, a pre-sentence report has been ordered and will canvass Michel’s personal background and Gladue factors.

On Aug. 4, 2024, Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Whitfield Road, in the Rural Municipality of Buckland.

Officers immediately responded. The passenger, 32-year-old Esther McCallum, was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.

Michel and a second passenger were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Michel was arrested and charged last February.

According to Esther McCallum’s obituary, she had two children. (Facebook)
