Oct 2, 2025 | 3:00 PM

A teenage girl accused of failing to stop after an accident causing death, is maintaining her innocence.

On Wednesday, when the case was discussed at Prince Albert Provincial Court, a not guilty plea was entered by her lawyer.

No trial dates were set and the matter was set over to Oct. 24.

The girl, who can’t be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was previously released on bail and was supported in the courtroom by family members.

On May 20, 2025, shortly after 2 a.m., a man was struck and killed along the southbound lanes of Highway 11.

The name and age of the deceased have not been released, but RCMP confirmed he is not a Canadian citizen.

The vehicle involved, a black Jeep, was located a day later on Beardy’s & Okemasis Cree Nation.
