Constant brothers to be laid to rest at James Smith Cree Nation

Funerals will be held Tuesday at James Smith Cree Nation for two men tragically killed in a car crash last Friday.

Seth and Rene Constant were well known as members of the band Constant Reminder.

The funerals today will be held at the Bernard Constant School Gymnasium and will also be live streamed. The link will be made available through the community’s social media page.

The community’s school, clinic and band office will be closed today.

The Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Awards were held Saturday in Prince Albert and a special moment of silence was held for the two men.

The cause of Friday’s crash remains under investigation.

The driver and lone occupant of the other vehicle involved was also killed. RCMP said he was a 59-year-old man from Kinistino.
