Manslaughter charge laid in 2024 Prince Albert death investigation

A man awaiting trial for murder has now been charged in connection to a separate death investigation in Prince Albert.

Quentin Gardiner, 40, appeared Thursday morning at provincial court and was remanded to Oct. 24. He is charged with manslaughter In relation to the death of Travis Caisse last year.

On August 10, 2024, just before 1:30 a.m., the Prince Albert Police Service attended to a residence in the 300 Block of 15th Street West for an injured person. Caisse was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he was declared deceased.

On Wednesday, Major Crimes Unit investigators arrested Gardiner at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre.

Prince Albert police said there are no outstanding suspects in relation to this investigation and no further charges are anticipated.

“Our prayers have been answered and my brother is at rest,” Caisse’s sister said in a statement provided to paNOW.

In relation to the death in July last year of Norman Wenzel, Gardiner is facing a charge of first degree murder. Trial dates at Court of King’s Bench have not yet been set.
