Nine years have passed since the Blue Jays’ last appeared in the American League Champion Series and with the last two games going their way, fans are taking notice and investing.

Sports memorabilia stores in Prince Albert have been ordering up extra hats and jerseys. Chris Clayton at Sporty T’s confirmed there has been a small increase in sales, but added both from a business and a personal standpoint, it’s good news.

“It’s awesome to see our boys doing well,” he said.

When asked what fans are buying, Clayton said hats are the big thing but also hoodies.

On the other end of the Gateway Mall, Lisa Mattice at Twilight Framing and Sports Gallery, also confirmed a bump in sales.

“Especially after the last couple wins, we’ve been selling a ton of jerseys, t-shirts, hats,” she said.

With respect to specific players, Mattice said Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer are in big demand.

“I don’t have anything available to me now with any names and numbers other than Bichette, but yeah I’ve sold out of almost all the jerseys. It’s crazy,:” she said.

Added to the excitement is the fact the Saskatchewan Roughriders are also playing well.

“It’s definitely picked up business. The last few years were quite slow with sales, so of course this year, there’s no stock available because they’re doing so well, they’ve sold out.”
