North Stars in Warman for pair of contests with Wolverines

Oct 17, 2025 | 1:18 PM

The Battlefords North Stars (3-3-0-1, 3rd in Nutrien division) are getting set to head down the road to Warman to take on the Wolverines (1-7-0-1, 4th in Nutrien division) for two games this weekend. It’s the North Stars first game in Warman this season since the team relocated.

Battlefords most recently played last weekend, when they split a home-and-home with Humboldt. They look to get back into the win column after a 6-0 loss to the Broncos on Oct. 11.

Warman is still searching for their first win of October, and second of the year. They have dropped five straight games dating back to Sept. 26 when they beat Kindersley 6-5 in overtime. The Wolverines dropped their last game 5-2 on the road against La Ronge.

The North Stars have an opportunity to improve their record to 2-0 against the Wolverines tonight. The teams faced off in North Battleford on Sept. 23 when the North Stars won 5-2 at home. Linken Fisher had two goals in that game, leading the North Stars to victory.

Fisher and his defensive partner, Gavin Granger, will look to continue their offensive output on Friday, as Granger currently leads the team in points with nine (2 goals, 7 assists), while Fisher is tied for 2nd in points with seven (3 goals, 4 assists).

Up front, the top point getters on forward so far this season are Kobe Sawyer with seven points (3 goals, 4 assists), and captain Anthony Cambell with six (2 goals, 4 assists).

The North Stars are shaking up their top six on offence, putting Drew Williamson and Kaleb Dewar on the first line with Anthony Campbell. Josh Knittig will go down to the second line with Carter Geysen and Raiden Zacharias.

Battlefords will go back to Kaeden Serpa between the pipes after he stopped 35 of the 37 shots he faced in relief in the last game against Humboldt. Serpa has a 2.88 GAA with a .918 save percentage in five games played this season.

The Ultra Print Services Pregame show will begin at 6:30 p.m., and Napa Auto Parts North Stars Hockey begins at 7 p.m. on 93.3 Beach Radio.
