A 24-year-old man is facing multiple charges including impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, according to Prince Albert Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit.

The collision at the intersection of Marquis Road and 2nd Ave. West happened just before midnight on September 17, sending the occupants of one of the vehicles to hospital.

One of the patients, 28-year-old Shawna Ratt, later passed away from her injuries.

The vehicle she was in had been struck on the passenger side by the other vehicle.

The other two patients were also seriously injured but were released from hospital after being treated.

No name has been released yet for the 24-year-old driver of the other vehicle, who has been released on bail conditions.

He will make his first appearance on November 4 in Prince Albert Provincial Court.

In addition to impaired driving causing death, he has two charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing death.
