RCMP investigating assault caught on camera, weekend house fire

La Ronge RCMP are investigating an assault that was recorded and uploaded on social media over the weekend.

In an email to larongeNOW, Saskatchewan RCMP stated on Oct. 18 at around 9:30 p.m, police received several reports of an assault that occurred on Bigstone.

Officers responded and an investigation determined an altercation occurred between a group of individuals, where one of the individuals was assaulted and injured. They received treatment for injuries described as non life-threatening in nature.

About six hours later, on Oct.19 at approximately 3 a.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of a fire at a house on Bigstone. Police and the members with the La Ronge Regional Fire Department are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

Fire Chief Keaton Cloud told larongeNOW on Monday the fire has been deemed suspicious.
