Residents urged to stay indoors as RCMP investigate on English River First Nation

There is an increased RCMP presence on English River First Nation (ERFN) as officers continue an ongoing investigation Tuesday.

While police have not released details about the case, the ERFN emergency response team said in a statement the situation is connected to an earlier incident near Meadow Lake.

The team is asking community members to stay indoors when possible, keep doors locked and remain alert while police complete their search.

“Please wait for an official update before resuming normal activities.”

Mounties are also asking people to avoid areas where officers are active and to follow any directions given by police.

“If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public,” RCMP said in an email to meadowlakeNOW.
