Messing with each other might be natural for bull elk in the fall but messing with fences is another story.

Nipawin conservation officers rescued two bull elk who were stuck together last week.

The officers were called on October 11 to a report of the two males dangerously entangled in some fencing wire near Tobin Lake.

Acting quickly, the officers immobilized the elk and freed them, both walking away healthy and safe.
