A 36-year-old inmate at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary near Prince Albert has died, according to Corrections Canada.

Craig Papequash was serving a sentence of more than 10 years. He had been in custody since June 12, 2018.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances. CSC policy requires the police and the coroner be notified.
