Arrests made in 2023 Meadow Lake shooting death

Saskatchewan RCMP have charged two men in connection with a fatal shooting in Meadow Lake in 2023.

Officers were called to a business in the community around 5:40 a.m. on July 18, 2023, after reports of a shooting. A 23-year-old man from Meadow Lake was found injured and later died in hospital.

RCMP Major Crimes investigators have been working on the case since the incident.

Today, Oct. 29, 2025, investigators travelled to a correctional centre in Alberta, where they arrested two men in relation to the homicide.

Thirty-one-year-old Creeson Merasty and 39-year-old Gerald Sinclair are each charged with one count of second-degree murder.

According to Meadow Lake Provincial Court, they are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 30.
