High school football playoffs continue this weekend

The high school football semi-finals are being held across the province this weekend.

In 4A nine-aside playoffs, the Melfort Comets head south to face the Humboldt Mohawks.

The Comets were 6-0 during the regular season and are coming off a 36-16 victory over Moose Jaw Vanier in last week’s playoff game. The Mohawks finished 4-1 in the regular season, and they pummeled Foam Lake 66-6 in the playoffs last week.

Saturday’s playoff game will start at noon, and the winner will face the victor in the Lumsden-Melville matchup.

The Wakaw Warriors travel to Clavet in one 2A six-aside semi-final. Wakaw beat Unity 68-29 last week, and the other semi-final will feature Watrous hosting Rosetown.

In the 1A six-aside semi-finals, the Carrot River Wildcats welcome Hafford. The Wildcats upended Biggar 54-28 last week, and the other semi-final will feature Hanley in Lemberg.
