RCMP arrest suspect in La Loche shooting

La Loche RCMP have arrested a 31-year-old man who was being sought by police in connection to a shooting in the community.
In the late hours of Halloween night, officers captured Clayton Fontaine on Frederick Street in La Loche following an increased police presence in the area.
At around 5:20 a.m. that same day, La Loche RCMP received a report of a shooting outside of a home in the community and found a man suffering from serious injuries. Police determined an altercation had occurred, leading to the suspect pulling out a firearm and shooting the man. The suspect fled on foot.
RCMP later identified the suspect as Fontaine, who has since been handed a list of assault and firearms charges, including attempted murder.
