Fentanyl, cocaine and shotgun seized in Lloydminster traffic stop
Two men are facing multiple charges after Lloydminster RCMP seized drugs, cash and a firearm during a traffic stop within the city limits last week.
Police say the stop, conducted on Oct. 30, led officers to find evidence consistent with offences under the federal Excise Act. Both the driver and passenger were arrested for possessing unstamped tobacco, and a subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered cocaine, fentanyl, cash and a shotgun with a defaced serial number.
Mounties say they seized about 13 grams of cocaine, 23 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of Canadian currency, a .410 shotgun, and ammunition.
A 23-year-old man from Regina is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon contrary to order, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and failure to comply with a release order.
