Lloydminster man charged after targeted shooting, loaded shotgun seized

A 30-year-old Lloydminster man is facing several firearm-related charges after RCMP responded to an early-morning shooting complaint yesterday.

Police say they were called to a firearms incident around 5:57 a.m. on Nov. 4. When officers arrived, they found one person with non-life-threatening injuries. RCMP say the incident was targeted.

At about 8:29 a.m., officers arrested a lone suspect without incident. Investigators say the man was carrying a loaded shotgun and extra ammunition.

Catlin Heathen, 30, of Lloydminster, is charged with 13 offences including discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and multiple counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition while prohibited.

Heathen remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Nov. 10.

RCMP say they are not looking for any other suspects.
