The Kindersley Klippers made the most of the final two periods, racking up five unanswered goals in that span to cruise to their third victory over the Warman Wolverines this season with a 9-4 win on Friday night in Warman.

The Wolverines welcomed in a new forward in Corban Almen, who made his SJHL debut following previous WHL experience with the Regina Pats and the Pentiction Vees. The Klippers drew first blood in the opening frame when Avery Johnson netted his seventh goal and Cobe Perlinger scored for the third time to put the visitors up 2-0.

Johnson said twice is nice as he found his second goal of the game to extend the Kindersley lead to 3-0 with the game still less than six minutes old. But the Wolverines responded when Cam Sarna scored for a second straight game with a power play goal to put Warman on the board. The Wolverines did more damage when Peyton Allard found the back of the net to cut the lead to one at 3-2.

A wild opening period continued as Cam Perlinger put the Klippers back ahead by two when he collected his thrd goal with his twin brother Cobe recording the assist. But once again Warman had an answer as Riley Rich-Holden tied Kane Kennedy for the team goal scoring lead with his sixth and Brodie Scopick knotted the game at 4-4 with a shorthanded breakaway goal for the Wolverines. The teams combined for 40 shots in the opening frame, with Warman holding a 21-19 edge.

Kindersley got things up and running to begin the second period as Stein Dostal scored his second goal of the season to give the Klippers the lead back at 5-4. And there was more where that came from, first with a goal from Brock Evans and then Johnson completing the hat trick to grow the lead to 7-4 after forty minutes of play.

The Klippers sealed the deal when Van Eger and Rylan Wieler scored in the third period to put the game out of reach and snap their brief two-game losing skid. Mattias Radke denied 17 of 21 shots before being replaced by Brett O’Halloran, who backstopped the Klippers to victory, making 29 saves. Taye Timmerman stopped 16 of 22 shots in his return before being pulled for Griffin Wright who kept nine of 12 shots out.

The Wolverines continue to occupy fourth place in the Nutrien Division with a record of 4-11-2 while the Klippers are second in the Nutrien at 9-3-2-4. Warman will hit the road for the seco nd time in November when they go into the back end of the home and home series with the Klippers on Saturday at 7:30pm.
