Ethan Sautner became the second Kindersley player with a multi-goal game this weekend, scoring twice and adding an assist to lead the Kindersley Klippers to their fourth straight win over the Warman Wolverines with a 6-3 victory on Saturday night. The Wolverines visited the Inter Pipeline Events Centre following a 9-4 home loss to the Klippers on Friday.

The Klippers opened the scoring for the second straight night in the first period when Sautner found the net on the power play to get Kindersley up 1-0. Rylan Wieler fired one home for his fifth of the season and Sautner added a second goal to his total to extend the Kindersley lead to 3-0.

Ethan Dundas ended a four-game goalless drought with his fifth of the season to get Warman on the board but Brock Evans collected his sixth goal of the campaign on another Klippers power play, growing the lead to 4-1 after 20 minutes of play with the shots even at 11 apiece.

Following a scoreless second frame, it was the Wolverines who got the final period of regulation started when Owen Parks deflected a shot from Vincent Palmarin into the net to cut the lead in half at 4-2.

Austin Schafer had a moment to remember as the Kindersley native scored his first career goal in his SJHL debut in front of his hometown fans to widen the Kindersley lead to 5-2. Riley Rich-Holden got that one back on a Wolverines power play but Pryce Thiessen put the game away in the final minute of regulation, scoring into an empty net to give Kindersley the weekend sweep.

Brett O Halloran stood tall in net for Kindersley, denying 44 of 47 shots faced to earn back-to-back wins. Griffin Wright stopped five of eight shots faced before being replaced by Taye Timmerman, who kept 22 of 24 shots out of the net. The Wolverines, now on a three-game losing skid, take up the fourth spot in the Nutrien Division at 4-12-2 through 18 games played and are currently 12th overall in the SJHL while the Klippers are tied with the Humboldt Broncos for first in both the Nutrien and the league at 10-3-2-4.

The Wolverines now prepare to do some traveling again when they visit the Weyburn Red Wings for a two game weekend series starting on Friday. Every Wolverines home and away game can be heard for free on SaskNow.Com.
