Rider fans around the prairies celebrate 112th Grey Cup win

The Grey Cup is coming back to Saskatchewan after a 12-year drought, and Rider Nation is ready to party!

The Saskatchewan Roughriders knocked off the Montreal Alouettes 25-17 on Sunday, to claim the organization’s fifth championship title and a place in CFL history.

Rider fans who packed the Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg had a front row seat to the celebration.

When it was time to file out, the party continued onto the street.

A large crowd quickly filled the “Green Mile” in Regina, a famous stretch of road leading to Mosaic Stadium.

Fireworks lit the sky above Rider Nation on Albert Street.

Fans broke out into song on the Green Mile in celebration.

Fans in Saskatoon filled bars across the city, eagerly watching the giant TV screens up to the final seconds.

It’s been a long time coming for fans of the Green and White, but fans say this win was worth the wait.

In Canwood, Sask., the game was projected onto the side of the local grain elevator, creating an outdoor watch party for the community.

In Saskatoon, drivers on Eighth Street honked their horns in celebration of the win on Sunday night.
