Nov 30, 2025 | 7:55 PM

The Warman Wolverines suffered their fifth straight loss as the Yorkton Terriers enjoyed a dominant performance on offence and came away with a 6-1 victory on Sunday afternoon in Yorkton.

The Wolverines faced the Terriers for the second time this season after dropping a 7-2 decision on October 25 and were looking to rebound after falling 6-2 to the Melfort Mustangs on Saturday.

The Terriers got on the board first with the only goal of the first period when Cash Lanigan started the scoring just as he did in the teams’ first meeting. The home side doubled the lead to 2-0 in the second period after Jake Briltz fired home his first goal of the season.

Wolverines forward Bexson Fox ended the shutout bid of Callum Creig when he found the back of the net for his second goal to cut the lead in half. The Terriers got back up by two when Thomas Ries collected his seventh goal of the season to make the score 3-1 after 40 minutes of play.

Yorkton did even more damage in the third period when William Leonard buried his team leading 16th goal of the season and fifth against the Wolverines. The Terriers put it away when Owen Roberts netted his first SJHL goal and Gabriel Courchesne tallied his 10th on a power play goal to secure the team’s third straight win.

The Wolverines remain fourth in the Nutrien Division and 12th in the SJHL at 6-18-2 while the Terriers occupy third place in the Bunge Division at 13-9-1 and jump to seventh overall with the victory.

The Wolverines are home to the La Ronge Ice Wolves on Friday to begin their December schedule. Every Wolverines home and away game can be heard for free on SaskNow.com.
