An unoccupied mobile home in the North Bay Trailer Park was consumed by fire along with a nearby garage last week.

Buckland Fire and Rescue were called out about 6 p.m. on November 25 for a structure fire.

They responded with four tanker trucks, an engine and a rescue unit along with the command vehicle and 18 firefighters.

They found the unoccupied mobile home and detached garage fully engulfed in flames. A nearby mobile home was also at threat from the extreme heat.

The crew in the engine uses a hose, water and some Class A foam to cool the area down.

Once a second truck arrived at the scene, the first tanker went to Madden Place to start a water shuttle. They used an ice auger and a pump to pull the water out for a continuous supply.

Firefighters also used a thermal imaging camera to monitor temperature levels in the home next door.

While it did not burn, the exterior got exterior heat damage and some smoke damage inside.

It was saved according to the quick action of the firefighters, said Buckland Fire and Rescue on their social media page.

RCMP, SaskPower and SaskEnergy were also called to the scene.
