Trojans, Thunder split weekend games; Wolfpack tie lone contest

The Tisdale Trojans split their weekend games against the Estevan Innovex Bears this weekend at the RECplex.

The Trojans let a 2-1 lead slip on Friday night as they fell 5-2.

Oliver Homstol and Ramy Borowsky scored to give the Trojans a 2-1 lead early in the third, but they were outshot 17-5 in the final frame and outscored 4-1.

Jackson Dunn made 33 saves in the loss.

The Trojans bounced back on Saturday with a 5-4 shootout win.

Kash Elke scored in the first as the game was tied after one period.

They fell behind 4-2 after the second, with Jacob Tait scoring the lone Trojan goal.

Tait and Parker Bleich scored for Tisdale to send the game to a shootout, with Ethan Janzen and Tait scoring in the shootout to clinch the win.

Wyatt Fleischhacker made 28 saves for Tisdale, who are now 8-12-1-0 on the season.

They’ll return to action Wednesday night as they host Yorkton.

The Carrot River Outback Thunder also split their weekend games in the PJHL.

They started with an 8-1 win at home over Moosomin on Friday.

Cash Aasen scored twice for the Thunder, with other goals coming from Dawson Malinowski, Gavin Bodnarchuk, Kieran Hardie, Lukas Tuplin, Rylan MacGillvray, and Rhett Lubda.

Dominic Smith made 20 saves in the win, as the Thunder outshot Moosomin 47-21.

The Thunder lost 8-2 in Martensville the following night.

Rhett Lubda and Cody Morash had goals for Carrot River, with Hunter Nakonechny making 20 saves and Dominic Smith 10 saves in relief.

Carrot River is now 9-9-0-1 and will hit the road Wednesday to face the Saskatoon Westleys.

The North East U18 AA Wolfpack tied their lone game of the weekend, 4-4 against the Parkland Elks.

Nixon Coleman scored twice for the Wolfpack, while Taylor Coleman and Hayle Dennis getting the other goals.

Kane Hutson stopped 39 shots in the tie for the Wolfpack, as they move to 5-7-1 on the season.

The Wolfpack is in Prince Albert Monday night to face the Lake Country Co-op Timberwolves.
