Arrest made in Wayne Keller murder investigation

Dec 3, 2025 | 12:22 PM

Just over four months after Wayne Keller’s lifeless body was found in Prince Albert’s rail yards area, a charge of second degree murder has been laid.

William Hunt-Charles was arrested on Dec. 1 and was already in custody for other charges.

As per discussions heard on Wednesday at Prince Albert Provincial Court, all his matters have been adjourned to Dec. 18. Keller’s death last July represented Prince Albert’s third homicide investigation of 2025.

In addition to the murder charge, Hunt-Charles has also been accused of possessing a firearm while prohibited and possessing ammunition while prohibited. Prince Albert police have indicated there are no further suspects at this time and investigators do not anticipate any further charges.

Keller’s aunt Annie Standing spoke to paNOW outside the courthouse. She said Keller was married and had four children and one granddaughter.

“They have to grow up without him now, and there’s such an empty spot in our lives,” she said through tears.

Standing explained Keller’s father is in poor health and his mother passed a couple years ago.

At this stage of the court proceedings, the circumstances of the case are unknown. Standing said her nephew worked all the time, was always helping others and above all was a great father.

“I want to know the reason why. Why would anyone want to take someone else’s life?” she said.
