The CPKC Holiday Train will make a stop in Wilkie this Sunday, bringing live music and support for the local food bank as part of its annual cross-country fundraising tour.

The train is scheduled to pull into First Avenue on Dec. 7 from 1:30 to 2 p.m., featuring free performances by Jade Eagleson and Teigen Gayse.

Now in its 26th year, the Holiday Train raises money, food and awareness for food banks in communities across Canada and the United States. CPKC donates to the local food bank at every stop and encourages residents to bring monetary or “heart-healthy” food donations.

Since its inaugural trip in 1999, the program has collected more than $26 million and 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks.

Eagleson arrives in Saskatchewan after earning the 2025 CCMA Male Artist of the Year award and accumulating more than 335 million global streams. He also scored five #1 hits at Canadian Country Radio.

Gayse joins him as one of Canadian country music’s fast-rising independent artists. She has earned back-to-back Top 30 radio singles – one reaching No. 21 – along with more than 10 million global streams and 48 million TikTok views.

In 2024, she won three British Columbia Country Music Awards, including Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year, and later received a CCMA nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

For Wilkie residents, the stop offers a short concert, a community gathering point and a way to support local families heading into the winter season.

The Holiday Train will also stop in Macklin later that afternoon, running 4:40 to 5:10 p.m. at Press Avenue and Leader Street. Other Saskatchewan stops include Bredenbury, Yorkton, Foam Lake, Wynyard and Saskatoon, all scheduled for Dec. 6.
