Power disrupted after stolen car plows into power pole

Roughly 40 Sask Power customers are without power this afternoon after a car drove nose first into a power pole.

The collision occurred at the intersection of 12th St. and Third Ave. W.

A person living nearby told paNOW she heard a loud bang and saw a male and a female run from the scene. The owner of the vehicle also reached out to paNOW and said the vehicle was stolen three days ago.

A spokesperson for Sask Power confirmed they will need to switch out the damaged pole and aim to have power restored by 6p.m.

The circumstances of the crash remains unknown at this time.

According to information provided by the Prince Albert Police Service, their initial information outlined the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot.

At this time police are continuing to investigate and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
