Low scoring affair

Mustangs suffer weekend sweep against Millionaires

Dec 7, 2025 | 7:33 PM

The Melfort Mustangs were swept in their weekend home-and-home set against the Melville Millionaires.

After a 5-2 loss at home on Friday, Melfort travelled to Melville on Saturday and put up a much better effort.

The Mustangs scored on their first shot of the game, as Logan Peskett was nicely set up by a cross-ice feed from Danton Cox for the backdoor tap-in.

Unfortunately, for the Stangs, they were unable to score on their next 28 shots, as they fell 2-1 to the Millionaires.

Special teams execution was another issue for both teams on the night, as they combined to go 0-for-9 on the power play.

The Blue and Green are now three games below .500 for the first time this season.

The Mustangs will be back in action on Tuesday, when they travel to La Ronge to take on the Ice Wolves.
