Hotel noise complaint leads to sexual assault investigation in Lloydminster

Dec 9, 2025 | 9:26 PM

A noise complaint at a Lloydminster hotel early morning last week led RCMP to a sexual assault investigation and the arrest of three men.

Police say officers were called to the hotel around 3:47 a.m. on Dec. 5. When they arrived, someone in the lobby reported they had been sexually assaulted by individuals inside the building.

Mounties located the room and arrested three suspects. A search warrant was later executed with assistance from the Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section.

Karan Joshi, 39, and Ghanshyam Verma, 22, both of Lloydminster, along with Joginder Momi, 45, of Edmonton, have each been charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement.

The three accused were remanded following a bail hearing but have since been released on conditions. They are scheduled to appear in Lloydminster provincial court on Jan. 12, 2026.

RCMP are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app.
