Mustangs’ woes against Bombers continue

Jan 4, 2026 | 11:41 PM

The Melfort Mustangs still haven’t won a game against the Flin Flon Bombers this season.

Melfort is now 0 and 6 in their matchups with the division rival Bombers, which included being swept this weekend.

The Mustangs fixed one part of their first game from Friday, just allowing a single goal after giving up five.

The problem was their offence got worse, as after scoring just a single goal Friday, they didn’t even get one in the back of the net on Saturday.

Flin Flon’s backup netminder made 36 saves for his first shutout of the year.

The Stangs are now a season-worst five games under .500, and are losers of their last three.

With an 11-16-1-2 record, they are also nine points out of a playoff spot.

The Blue and Green will next play on the road, when they travel to Yorkton to take on the Terriers on Friday.
