The Warman Wolverines have made a move mere days before the SJHL trade deadline by acquiring defenceman Trevor Oishi from the La Ronge Ice Wolves in exchange for a player development fee.

The West Vancouver, B.C., native began this season playing two games with the Weyburn Red Wings before he was picked up by the Ice Wolves in October. The 2007-born defender has seven goals and six assists for 13 points in 19 games played in his rookie season in the league. During his time with the Ice wolves, he posted seven goals and five assists in 17 games.

Oishi spent the previous three seasons with the Burnaby Winter Club, the last two with their under-18 squad. Last season he produced three goals and 22 assists in 36 regular season contests. He was selected by the Portland Winterhawks in the ninth round of the 2022 WHL prospects draft.

The Wolverines are on the road this weekend for a two game set with the Estevan Bruins with game one set for Friday with puck drop at 7 p.m. at Affinity Place.
