Mustangs lose rescheduled affair with Millionaires in overtime

Jan 22, 2026 | 12:12 AM

The Melfort Mustangs couldn’t buy a goal Wednesday night, as they fell to the visiting Melville Millionaires.

Melfort had 36 shots and five powerplays, but failed to score on Melville goaltender Preston Patenaude.

The Mustangs would’ve needed just a single marker in regulation to come out on top, as the game needed overtime after a scoreless 60 minutes from both sides.

Eventually, it was defenceman Louis Nadeau who won it for the Millionaires in the extra frame, as he beat a Stangs defender on the outside, before walking in and burying it past Blue and Green netminder Madden Mulawka.
