Quarterback Jack Coan will be wearing green and white once again in 2026.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced on Monday that Coan has signed a one-year extension with the team. Coan, who stands six-foot-three and weighs in at 218 pounds, has suited up for 23 games with the Riders since he was signed in March of 2024, completing 12 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown.

Coan, 27, signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent after the NFL’s 2022 draft and attended camp with the Colts before joining the XFL’s San Antonio Brahmas where he played eight games, throwing for 1,403 yards and six touchdowns.

The Sayville, New York product played 13 games for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in his senior year, earning 3,150 yards and 25 touchdowns over an 11-2 record. He later set the record for passing yards (509) and passing touchdowns (five) in the 2022 Fiesta Bowl.

Before Notre Dame, Coan spent four seasons at the University of Washington, playing 25 games and earning 3,278 passing yards and 23 touchdowns, along with four rushing touchdowns.

“In 2019, he was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention after throwing 236 passes for 2,727 yards, the third highest single season total in UW history,” the Riders noted in a statement.
