Mustangs look to avenge Wednesday’s loss to Millionaires

Jan 24, 2026 | 6:10 PM

The Melfort Mustangs are on the road Saturday, as they take on the Melville Millionaires.

After an unusual day off on Friday, the Mustangs are back on the ice for the first time since Wednesday, when they faced the same Millionaires.

Melfort lost that defensive battle, 1-0 in overtime, as their three-game win streak was snapped.

They did get a point, however, which they’ve now done in four straight, as they continue to trend upwards, in the right direction.

The Stangs are hoping to avenge said OT loss, while in the same breath, avoid the season sweep from the Mills.

The Blue and Green are now 0 and 3 in the two clubs’ previous matchups this season, and trail their opposition by eight points in the league standings.

The Mustangs had been doing a better job of finding the back of the net recently, before being shut out in extra time, despite 36 shots and five powerplays.

Hopefully, that was just a one-off, and Melfort keeps scoring at a bit of a higher pace, as they look to continue to climb their way back into the playoff picture.

Tonight’s game will begin with a 7 p.m. puckdrop.
